Music Major Experience Schedule

The Music Major Experience is held annually in February on President's Day and is your opportunity to experience the life of a music major at Valdosta State University. Join us in classes and rehearsals, meet the VSU music students you will be friends with next fall, get to know your professors, and audition for entrance as a music major and for scholarships!

8:30 a.m. Registration in Fine Arts Building lobby
9:15 a.m. Welcome and Introductions in Whitehead Auditorium
9:30 a.m. Department of Music Showcase in Whitehead Auditorium
10:30 a.m. Music Theory Placement Exam for Auditioning Students
11:00 a.m. Students - Choose a session to attend:
Woodwinds, Brass, Percussion: Wind Ensemble in Whitehead Auditorium
Voice: Meet with Accompanist in Powell Hall
Strings: String Ensemble in Powell Recital Hall
Piano & Guitar: Attend Wind Ensemble or String Ensemble
Parents -  Q & A in Fine Arts 1032
12:00 p.m. LUNCH: Palms Dining Hall
1:00 p.m. Students - Choose a session to attend:
Woodwinds, Brass, Percussion: Jazz Ensemble in Whitehead Auditorium
Voice: Chamber Singers in Powell Recital Hall
