Dr. Jennifer Lambert-Shute is a Full Professor in the Marriage and Family Therapy program at Valdosta State University, where she has taught and supervised since 2004. She earned her Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Virginia Tech, her M.S. in MFT from Appalachian State University, and her B.A. in Psychology from Western Illinois University. Before joining Valdosta State, she served as an instructor and clinical supervisor at the University of Oregon. An AAMFT Clinical Fellow and Approved Supervisor for more than a decade, Dr. Lambert-Shute, is dedicated to training the next generation of marriage and family therapists. Her teaching and supervision emphasize helping students and supervisees develop theoretical frameworks that reflect their own epistemological perspectives. Her research interests include MFT training and supervision, therapeutic work with older adults, and student engagement in research. For over 7 years, she has led a collaborative research team of faculty and students dedicated to deepening students’ understanding of research and its connection to clinical practice.Recent Publications and Presentations
